The representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, State Agency of Ukraine in charge of Investments and Innovations, other Ministries and departments attended the meeting. The meeting was held within the scope of the parliamentary hearings "Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in Ukraine: Issues of Legislative Provision and Enforcement", "National Innovation System of Ukraine: Issues of Formation and Implementation" and the committee hearings "Innovation activity in Ukraine: Problems and their Settlement".
Volodymyr Polokhalo, the Committee Chairman, underscored "the lack of positive changes in the fields of legal protection of intellectual property and innovation activity". He stated that in some cases the issues mentioned by the participants of the parliamentary hearings become even more urgent and inevitable. He believes that the current situation endangers economic safety of the State.
V.Polokhalo emphasized "the necessity of systematic approach to the settlement of issues concerning low efficiency, declarative nature and unsystematic character of public innovation policy".
